Winter opening times 2012The shop is closed from January 1st and re opens 28th January all fresh and sparkly! The website is always open. From 28th January - Tuesdays to Saturdays 10am - 5pm Welcome to Toy Ahoy, we are a family run toy and book shop in Minehead Somerset in the United Kingdom, specialising in natural and traditional toys, games, and books, for the children of today. We have grown out of a love of Art, Design, storytelling, and a true belief that all learning comes through play. When we first opened Toy Ahoy we were keen to bring a little extra magic that we felt was missing from current toy shops today.Through mixing interesting and diverse books hand picked from the publishers press, along side unique and well made traditional toys, we have created a portfolio of truly engaging and dynamic products which are to die for. The ecological message is not lost here either as many of our products have won awards for sustainability and environmental awareness, in this day and age we find many of our customers are proactive in purchasing wooden toys knowing that the holistic impact on the planet is gentler than plastic. But just because they are more environmentally and ethically better does not mean they are dull, great design is able to embrace all this and excel.
